    The Personal Brand

Companies hire expensive advertising agencies to achieve their “brand” and maintain it. From commercials, to press releases, to billboards, to catchy jingles, to cute cartoon mascots, companies pursue this branding to ensure that people remember them and their product.

Professionals, unfortunately, often forget that this applies not only to companies but also to themselves. This isn’t, of course, to say we all need cartoon lions to tell people how great we are. But there are tens of thousands of people in the market, often with the same qualifications, the same fancy degrees and certifications, fighting for the very same jobs. And if your “product” is going to stand out from the competition, you need to learn how to market your brand effectively.

Some of it comes from professional polish, years of experience in the business, or a particular mannerism that puts people at ease. But a large part of it is the promotional material you distribute: your resume, your pitch, and your drive, which in turn comes from knowing your career goals. And the GCSC is here to assist our clients in crafting those very things.
